Company is seeking an experienced sr. electronics engineer with experience as a project lead on design and development of mass produced switch mode power supplies and/or CFL lamps to assume the role of:
Sr. Power Electronics Engineer with heavy emphasis on R&D of next generation products
We are looking for a passionate, hands-on, self-motivated senior electrical engineer, who will be leading the development of next generation light driving circuits using state-of-the-art technologies in high frequency power electronics and ASIC.
Key expectations include:
Responsible for development of state-of-the-art dimmable, energy efficient lamps.
Supervise functional testing on complete systems:
Light output.
Thermal management.
EMI.
Life issues including failure analysis.
Act as the liaison between the power electronics and the product development group:
To ensure a smooth transition of the new technology to the product development team.
To provide support for resolution of product development design issues.
Communicate effectively to management about the status of the project(s) owned, including schedule, resource/equipment needs and risk assessment to complete product development activities in a timely manner.
Be flexible and a team player.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Document results and findings.
Minimum
Qualifications:
BSEE with 5 10 years of hands-on product development experience in industry, ideally in high-density Switched Mode Power Supply design or equivalent area.
Familiarity with analog power electronics, high frequency MOSFETs, and integrated circuits for control.
A good understanding on the fundamentals of heat-load management.
Design and testing for EMC.
Product certification to industry standards such as UL.
Proven track record designing low cost consumer products from concept to production.
Experience with modern circuit modeling and analysis tools.
Passionate, creative, high-energy individual, who works efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and presentation skills.

Preferred
Qualifications:

Lighting experience a plus, including work with dimming circuits.
Emphasis on designing high frequency power electronics circuits.
Experience in mixed-signal ASIC development.
Publications and/or patents in the area of lighting or power electronics.
