The Database Administrator's duties will include:
Responsibility for the performance, reliability, integrity, and security of all production databases
Managing and maintaining the backup and restores to client databases
Monitoring of Microsoft SQL Server to improve performance and availability
Analyze, consolidate, and tune databases for optimal efficiency
Designing and refining current architecture to ensure storage and scalability needs are met
Maintaining access permissions for internal and external user
Planning and executing infrastructure upgrades related to databases
Providing 24/7 support for critical situations
Required Skills
8
years experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 editions
3-5 years experience with high availability technologies such as: mirroring, clustering, replication
3-5 years experience with SQL Server Reporting
services
5
years experience with data modeling, stored procedures, transactional SQL
5
years experience with query optimization and index tuning
Exposure to data warehouse and business intelligence platforms
Solid communication skills as pertaining to server standardization, infrastructure planning and architecture
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
