ai Position Scope SES is seeking a motivated candidate for Manager of SEC Reporting to join our growing Finance and Accounting Team in Woburn, MA.
In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Manager of SEC Reporting and members of the accounting team.
This role will be responsible for the financial reporting process of the company, including the preparation of annual and quarterly financial statements, solving technical accounting issues, interpreting, and implementing new accounting standards, preparing accounting position memos, and working closely with external auditors to support the quarterly reviews and annual audit.
Responsibilities Conduct technical accounting research on complex accounting and reporting issues, including but not limited to collaboration accounting, research and development expenses, business combinations, equity financing, lease accounting, segment reporting and stock compensation.
Assist with the company's financial reporting process, including the preparation and review of disclosures included in SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, Proxy, XBRL tagging, etc) and earnings releases typical of a publicly traded company, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Coordinate the annual audit and quarterly review procedures with external auditors by maintaining PBC deliverables, including GAAP checklists, financial statement analytics, related party listings, and other items.
Review the monthly / quarterly financial statements including financial reporting package, cash flow statement, earnings release, investor presentations, etc.
Conduct analysis of regional operating results as part of key corporate controls Assist with the company's external financial reporting process, including the preparation and review of disclosures included in private company financial statements for subsidiary companies as per statutory reporting obligations under IFRS or local GAAP.
Work closely with senior leaders through the external reporting process.
Liaise with legal, investor relations, and other departments and process their comments effectively.
Evaluate the impact of new accounting pronouncement and financial reporting standards.
Provide training as needed for the broader finance team.
Manage equity administration platform and the stock compensation accounting and reporting process using the platform.
Identification of opportunities to improve and standardize processes/controls across the organization.
Assist in the development of the company's internal control framework and SOX compliance efforts, including documentation of process narratives and evaluation of whether controls are designed effectively and operating as intended to mitigate financial reporting risks.
Proactively research, analyze and benchmark the disclosures of peer companies, competitors, and industry trends.
Develop and assist with preparing financial materials used in presentations to the Board of Directors, Audit Committee and Executive Management.
Develop and perform regular reviews of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure continuous improvement.
Perform all other ad hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience including progressive technical accounting and SEC reporting experience Prior work experience at a Big 6 accounting firm preferred.
Active CPA license required.
Substantial knowledge and experience in U.
S.
GAAP, AICPA, and SEC financial reporting standards.
IFRS knowledge and experience is preferred.
Prior experience writing Forms 10-K, 10-Q, S-1, 8-K, and Proxy Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient in technical accounting writing ability Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and collaborative skills.
Self-motivation to identify areas of process improvement; recommend and implement improvements.
Experience with Toppan Platform and an equity administration platform (E-trade) preferred.
Robust internal controls understanding and documentation of relevant financial processes and transactions.
Detail oriented, ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon time frames through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
